Presentation of the daycare centre
The Villa Mauresque is a listed house that was renovated in 2007 to house a daycare centre.
The pedagogical team is made up of childhood educators, socio-educational assistants and helpers. A cook prepares meals on site, offering varied, balanced, seasonal menus. He is assisted by an assistant cook. The director and secretary make up the administrative team.
When a family arrives at the daycare centre, many questions and emotions can arise for parents and their baby. At Villa Mauresque, we introduce a period of familiarization: rather than taming the separation from parents and baby’s adaptation to his new environment, we invest in his continuity of being and continuity of care.
What also characterizes the Villa Mauresque’s pedagogy is the reflection of its geographical location: this island of nature in the heart of the city allows us to exploit beautiful outdoor spaces (both inside and outside the daycare center) and the wealth of natural materials and multi-purpose objects.
These objects can be everyday objects, natural, raw, recycled, transformed, etc., to be manipulated and combined ad infinitum! With these materials, children enrich their endless experiments and build their intelligence (their understanding of the world and the actions they can take in it). Exploiting this type of object enables them to integrate and appropriate progressive knowledge as they develop, make links between cause and effect, and develop their autonomy and imagination…
At Villa Mauresque, the child is at the centre of his development, and the educational team will also support him in a pedagogy based on free motor skills, empathy and benevolent communication.

the joy of playing
"Playing is a child's work, it's their job, it's their life". This is not only amusing, it's crucial.
